New Fairfield Homicide Victim Identified: Reports

The state Medical Examiner's office has confirmed that the woman's death was a homicide.

NEW FAIRFIELD, CT — The death of a 55-year-old woman in New Fairfield last week has been ruled a homicide by the state Medical Examiner's office Monday, reports the News Times. Susan Guido of Candlewood Drive was killed by a blunt impact to the head, according to the report.

On Thursday, state police detectives arrested a "person of interest" on a larceny charge in connection with Guido's death. Steven Flood, 32, (no address known) was arrested while camping in the woods in Union, CT, at noon Thursday by a patrol trooper and his K9 partner, police say. Police say Flood was developed as a person of interest after processing the scene at 26 Candlewood Road, where an unidentified woman was found dead and her death was ruled suspicious.

Police have yet to officially identify Guido as the woman in the home, but a prosecutor said during Flood's arraignment that he is the main suspect in her death, according to the News Times.
