New Food Emporium 'On Track' To Open In Brookfield: Officials
The grocery store is the latest retailer to announce their entry to Brookfield's burgeoning Downtown.
BROOKFIELD, CT — A new grocery store is on track to open soon at 731 Federal Road in Downtown Brookfield, town officials have confirmed.
"The Food Emporium grocery store is on track to open within the next 90 days," Brookfield Economic Development Specialist Greg Dembowski told Patch. "The developer reports tenant interest is strong for the one remaining commercial space still available. An announcement regarding that space is expected in a couple months."

Prior to the opening, all pedestrian and roadway improvements required by the state's Department of Transportation are scheduled to be completed. These include the new traffic light at Laurel Hill Road and bollards on the SRG Trail at both driveway entrances (see above) that were installed Thursday.

Residents have been asked to report any down signage or roping, as it is important the study area not be disturbed while the signs are posted.
"We are doing everything possible to avoid any delay of plans to construct Streetscape Phases 5 and 7 next summer," Dembowski said.
