Obituary: John Thornton, 82, of Brookfield

John E. Thornton, 82, of Brookfield, died peacefully at home on Monday, July 31, 2017 after a long illness, with his beloved wife, Lynda by his side. He was born in Trenton, NJ on March 12, 1935, son of the late Clarence and Irma (Steen) Thornton.

John retired from Pace Motor Lines in Stratford after many years working for them as a driver. He enjoyed traveling, going to casinos, and loved his dogs.

Most importantly, John will be remembered as a hard worker and a loving husband, father and grandfather.
In addition to his wife, Lynda, he will be sadly missed by his son, Thomas Thornton and his wife, Dorothy; a daughter, Annmarie Ercoli and her husband, Michael; and seven grandchildren, Michael, Josh and Robert Thornton, Crystal Heller, Veronica Keeley, Michael and Sophia Ercoli. He was predeceased by his son, Kenneth.

Funeral services will be held at the Brookfield Funeral Home, 786 Federal Road, Brookfield, on Thursday, August 3rd at 2:30pm.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday between the hours of 1:00 and 3:00pm.
