• Brookfield Compressor Station Expansion Public Hearing Scheduled This Week (patch.com) — Brookfield residents have a chance to weigh in tonight on a proposed expansion of the local compressor station during a virtual DEEP hearing at 5 p.m. Participants must register in advance if they want to speak or submit comments, and written feedback will be accepted until January 15. State officials will later respond to all comments before making a recommendation on the project.
   

• Brookfield asks judge to toss out former HR director's wrongful termination lawsuit (nhregister.com) — Brookfield officials are asking a judge to end a wrongful termination lawsuit filed by former town human resources director Fern Smenyak, who was dismissed in 2023. The town argues there’s no evidence her firing was discriminatory or tied to her stance on pension and ethics issues, while Smenyak has also filed a separate discrimination complaint with state authorities.
