Thanksgiving Day Charity Race To Benefit Roxbury Ambulance Association, Roxbury Scholarship Foundation; Harvey Medals To Be Awarded
ROXBURY – The seventh annual Roxbury Thanksgiving Day Chairty Race will be run on Thursday, November 28, at 9 a.m. over a 3.1-mile course to benefit two local charities.
The proceeds will be donated to the Roxbury Ambulance Association and the Roxbury Scholarship Foundation.
Pre-registration of $13.62 – a $10 entry fee and a $3.62 service charge – will be available through Tuesday, November 26, via https://ultrasignup.com/register.aspx?did=116758 at Ultra Signup.
Race-day registration of $15 per runner and will be held on Thursday, November 28, from 7:30 a.m. to 8:50 a.m. at the Everett B. Hurlburt Community Park at 18 Apple Lane.
The event generated $1,215 in proceeds in 2023.
The course travels from the community park to the end of Apple Lane and then turns right onto Rocky Mountain Road. The runners then will travel through an intersection to Hemlock Road and turn near the bottom of the hill on Hemlock Road and retrace their steps to the community park.
Some of the top finishers will be awarded wooden medallions constructed by Dave Harvey, a former Bridgewater resident who is a former season champion in the weekly Roxbury Road Runners Club series.
The charity race is sanctioned by the Roxbury Recreation Commission and is administered by the Roxbury Road Runners Club.
