Total Wine & More To Open New 25,000-Square-Foot Store In Brookfield

Total Wine & More opens this week at Candlewood Plaza in Brookfield, donating 10 percent of opening-week wine sales to REACH Western CT.

BROOKFIELD, CT — Total Wine & More, the nation’s largest independently owned retailer of fine wine, spirits and beer, will open a new store Wednesday, Oct. 29, in the Candlewood Plaza Shopping Center at 14 Candlewood Lake Road.

The 25,000-square-foot store will feature more than 8,000 wines, 4,500 spirits and 2,500 beers. It will also include a climate-controlled wine cellar for rare selections, a walk-in humidor for cigars, and wide aisles with detailed shelf tags and clear signage.

A classroom inside the store will host educational sessions for customers interested in learning more about wine, spirits and beer. The space will also be used for staff training and will be available for free to local groups or businesses seeking to host private classes or meetings. Reservations can be made through the company’s website.

To mark its opening, Total Wine & More will donate 10 percent of all wine sales from Oct. 29 through Sunday, Nov. 2, to REACH Western Connecticut, a nonprofit that supports at-risk children.

Founded in 1991, Total Wine & More operates 285 stores in 29 states. In 2024, the company contributed more than $13 million in cash and in-kind donations to over 18,000 organizations nationwide.
