Canton Announces Parking Ban As Storm Bears Down On CT

Several inches of snow are forecast for the state Friday night into Saturday morning.

CANTON, CT — With snow forecasted for this evening and continuing into Saturday morning, Canton residents are reminded that the annual overnight parking ban is in effect for all town streets.

Residents may utilize the Canton Town Hall parking lot for overnight parking between 4:30 p.m. Friday and 6:30 a.m. Saturday,

All vehicles parked in the town hall lot must be removed by 6:30 a.m. to allow for effective snow removal operations.

Residents planning to park overnight in the town hall lot are required to notify police dispatch at 860-693-0221 and provide their vehicle license plate number and a contact phone number.

"Please note that any previously granted parking exemptions must be renewed annually," wrote the town.

Vehicles parked on town streets during the overnight parking ban are subject to ticketing and towing.

Residents experiencing a significant hardship that affects their ability to comply with the parking ban may contact the Canton Police Department for guidance by calling the routine number at 860- 693-0221.
