Canton Fire/EMS Reflects On A Momentous 2024
In a year that saw the opening of a new firehouse, the Canton Fire & EMS Department also responded to a spike in calls the past year.

CANTON, CT — The numbers are in for the Town of Canton Fire & Emergency Medical Services Department, and not only was it a momentous 2024, but it was an increasingly busy one as well.
According to the department, in 2024 responders answered 1,863 calls for service, marking a 5.67 percent increase from the prior year.
That activity also came as the town opened up a brand-new firehouse to replace the old and antiquated one.

"We’re proud to have welcomed three new members, including nine from our revitalized cadet program," wrote the department in a year-in-review posted on social media.
"This year also saw theopening of our new fire and EMS headquarters and the addition of a new rescue truck.
