Canton Firefighters Rush To Massive Torrington Fire: FD
Firefighters from Canton were among the many mutual aid responders to Sunday's factory fire there.

CANTON, CT — Local firefighters were dispatched Sunday to a gigantic mill fire in Torrington, one of several out-of-town fire departments called for mutual aid.
According to WFSB Channel 3, the fire was reported at 12:45 a.m. Sunday at the former Stone Container Co. in Torrington.
Images taken of the fire showed the massive factory building being fully engulfed.

According to the Town of Canton Fire & EMS Department, units from Canton were called to the scene at about 2 a.m. Sunday.
Specifically, the department's drone team was asked to assist Torrington firefighters "at the scene of a commercial building fire."

Shortly thereafter, Canton's Ladder 2 was dispatched as part of Task Force 54, wrote Canton firefighters.
Canton's Ladder 2 worked the scene of the fire and poured water on the intense inferno.
"The ladder is actively utilizing its aerial waterway for master stream operations," wrote the Canton Fire & EMS Department on Sunday morning.
