Canton Forum To Address Teen Dating Violence

Teens/tweens aged 11 and up, along with their families, are invited to the forum later this week.

CANTON, CT — Local teens and tweens, along with their families, are invited to a very special forum Thursday evening about an issue of concern — teen dating violence.

The program, hosted by the Hartford-based Interval House and the Canton Public Library, will take place Thursday, Oct. 23, at 6:30 p.m. at the Canton Community Center, 40 Dyer Ave., Canton.

"Avoid becoming a statistic," reads an event announcement. "Learn the facts and signs of teen dating violence."

Interval House is a Hartford-based nonprofit dedicated to preventing domestic violence and helping its victims.

Event attendees will learn about the types of abuse and health/unhealthy relationship qualities.

They will also be provided with facts and information on supportive resources, along with the chance to ask questions and voice concerns.

Adults and teens attending will be split up into two separate simultaneous presentations as part of the program.
