Musicians from Canton High School entertained at the Community Center Wednesday. Shown here is a moment from a performance of the National Anthem.
The group consisted of the combined bands of Grade 9 Band and the Grade 10-12 Symphonic Band.
In addition to entertain, the event serves as a practice for the Memorial Day Parade.
"The musical and marching preparation of the group is done by the band's senior class during the two weeks prior to the parade as part of our leadership program," said Tom Scavone, music chair for Canton Public Schools.
"Canton Senior Center is so enthused every year to have the Canton High School Marching Band come down and entertain us," said Claire Cote, senior and social services director. "This is something that our active Members look forward to every year and is only one of many events where we get to work with the dynamic Tom Scavone and his talented musicians."
"The music program of the Canton schools is only one reason the older adults of this town take such pride in their community and it's nice to see the students wanting to share their talents with everyone," Cote added. "This is an especially special event for those who are Veterans or Widows of Veterans."
