Canton Home Damaged By Fire Friday: FD
A quick response resulted in the blaze being knocked down by firefighters quickly.

CANTON, CT — Local firefighters swarmed a home on Bahre Corner Road Friday afternoon after it was badly damaged by fire.
According to the Canton Fire & EMS Department, crews were dispatched to a reported structure fire on Bahre Corner Road.
"Upon arrival, crews found a working fire in a second-floor bedroom and knee walls," wrote firefighters in a release issued Saturday morning.

Due to no hydrants in that area of town, an automatic mutual aid assignment was initiated, along with a tanker strike team, fire officials said.
"Thanks to the quick and coordinated response of all personnel, the fire was brought under control swiftly, and mutual aid companies were released from the scene shortly thereafter," wrote the Canton Fire & EMS Department.

"We’d like to thank Canton police and the Simsbury Fire Department for their valuable assistance," wrote Canton fire officials.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the Canton Fire Marshal’s Office.
