Canton Middle School Student Honored with Athletic Award of Excellence

CMS middle-schooler Buck Mather has been chosen as this year's recipient of the Mike Savage Athletic Award of Excellence to recognize his sportsmanship, enthusiasm and teamwork, according to a release on the Canton Schools website.

"There is no better athlete to receive this award than Buck," said Mather's coach and teacher Tina Olsen, who nominated him for the award. "His consistent enthusiasm, positive attitude and determination make him a true team player. His competitive spirit motivates the entire CMS Unified team to be their best!"

The Mike Savage Athletic Award is giving to one middle school student in Connecticut each year, according to the release.
