Canton Announces Holiday Openings/Closings

CANTON, CT — 'Tis the season to kick back, relax, and enjoy the holiday season.

And with that comes closed schools, closed municipal offices, and general changes in operations hours this time of year.

To that end, Canton has announced its openings/closings schedule for the Christmas and New Year's holidays. They include:

• will be closing at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 24, (Christmas Eve)

• All Canton town offices and the library will be closed all day on Thursday, Dec. 25 (Christmas Day).

• All Canton town offices and the library will be closing at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 31 (New Year's Eve)

• All Canton town offices and the library will be closed all day on Thursday, Jan. 1, 2026. (New Year's Day)

• The Canton Public Library will also be closed on Friday, Dec. 26, and Saturday, Dec. 27.

• The transfer station will be closed on Christmas Day and New Year's Day.

• Canton Public Schools will be closed from Wednesday, Dec. 24, through Friday, Jan. 2. With classes resuming as normal on Monday, Jan. 5.
