Canton Nonprofit Doles Out Cash For Canton Causes

The locally based nonprofit recently announced a significant dollar amount being donated to several Canton-based organizations.

CANTON, CT — A local nonprofit dedicated solely to doling out funds to help Canton causes announced recently it is investing $62,000 this year in a variety of local nonprofits.

The Canton Community Health Fund Inc. announced the awards on May 19 to benefit "community partners" and "scholars" committed to "contributing to the health, safety, and well-being of the Canton community."

"Our 2025 community partners will significantly impact the everyday lives of our neighbors, friends, and family," said Sylvia Cancela, chairperson of the Canton Community Health Fund.

Among the Canton organizations benefiting are the Roaring Brook Nature Center, Canton Food Bank, Canton Senior & Social Services, the Canton police and fire departments, and the Spirit Horse Therapeutic Riding Center, among others.

In addition, the fund is financing scholarships for Canton High School graduates pursuing careers that serve the community.
