This grant provides funding for an officer to focus exclusively on traffic enforcement, with a particular emphasis on speed violations.

In addition to increased enforcement, the HRRR grant has enabled the Canton Police Department to acquire four new in-cruiser radar units and four handheld laser speed guns.

This equipment will allow officers to more accurately monitor vehicle speeds and improve overall traffic safety.

Through this initiative, the Canton Police Department aims to mitigate speeding concerns, promote safer driving behaviors, and address ongoing community complaints regarding traffic violations.

"We appreciate the public’s cooperation and look forward to working together to create safer roadways," wrote the Canton PD in a release.
