Delayed Opening Announced For Canton's Public Pool
Pre-opening inspections this month resulted in some necessary repairs, recreation officials said Thursday.
CANTON, CT — Pre-opening inspections of the pool at Mills Pond Park in Canton recently have resulted in a delay in when the pool will open this summer.
But, Canton recreation officials said Thursday, that delay is only by a few days for now, and it will result in some schedule changes.
"When the Mills Pond pool-opening process began earlier this month, a number of repairs that needed to be addressed were found," wrote the Canton Parks and Recreation Department to the community.

"After meeting with contractors and getting approval from the board of selectmen, the necessary repairs are scheduled to begin next week so the pool can be filled as soon as possible."
As a result, from June 16-20, only the splash pad will be open at Mills Pond.
