"With prom season, graduation celebrations, and summer break right around the corner, we know the temptation is real and we have all heard it before: 'Well, if they’re going to drink, I’d rather it be at my house where it’s ‘safe,'" police/school officials said.

"Let’s stop you right there... Hosting a party where teens “just drink at home so it’s safer” is like saying, 'I only let my kids play with fireworks inside the garage.'"

Parents who have drinking parties with underage participants risk prosecution and liability should someone become injured, or worse.

School/Police officails said it is a Class A misdemeanor for anyone in control of a home to "knowingly, recklessly, or with criminal negligence, permit any minor (person under the age of 21) to possess alcoholic liquor in such home or on such private property or fail to make reasonable efforts to halt such possession."
