Explore Nature In The Winter At Canton Preserve

CANTON, CT — A popular nature center has a day of winter fun planned for Monday, Jan. 20, on the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday, when area schoolchildren enjoy the day off.

The Roaring Brook Nature Center, located at 76 Gracey Road, Canton, is hosting its "Frozen Forest" program on a day when nature and winter will be showcased.

Events will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with special story times slated for 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Folks are urged to "bundle up" and explore the "chilly trails of Werner's Woods" and look for animal tracks and "other signs of winter wildlife."

The nature center will also included winter-theme nature crafts in warmer confines, along with a "Frozen" scavenger hunt.
