Farmington River Inner Tubers Dump Trash In Canton: Canton PD
The Canton Police Department is concerned about a littering problem at a Canton park adjacent to the Farmington River.

CANTON, CT — Local police are expressing concern about how folks at the Farmington River Tubing take-out area in town are treating the site in Canton.
Farmington River Tubing organizes inner tube adventures on the Farmington River.
The journey starts in New Hartford, and it ends 2.5 miles down the river in Canton, where the excursion ends at Memorial Park.

Canton police said Sunday that the parking area where the tubing adventures end, however, is becoming overrun with litter.
"We love that so many people come out to enjoy the beauty of the Farmington River - but let’s all do our part to keep it that way," wrote the Canton PD on Sunday.

The CPD urged those parking at the Farmington River Tubing take-out area to clean up after themselves.
"That includes water bottles, cans, food wrappers, broken rafts, boxes and anything else you brought with you," wrote the CPD.
"Leaving trash behind isn’t just harmful to the environment - it’s also disrespectful to others trying to enjoy the space."
Police even posted images showing the river and the accumulation of trash at the site.
