Canton Fundraiser to Benefit Children's Disaster Services

An Aug. 14 fundraiser at Dish n' Dat in Canton will benefit the CT chapter of Children's Disaster Services.

By bringing in the attached coupon, dinners can choose to have 20 percent of their food bill donated to the effort, which is a non-denominational program that helps kids in the midst of disasters, especially at shelters. With teams in several states, volunteers are mobilized to assist where needed.

"We appreciate Dish 'n Dat giving us the opportunity to raise funds for Children's Disaster Services," said Bruce Lockwood, CT facilitator for CDS. "To date we have completed three workshops. These funds will help us pay for the workshops and equipment the volunteers will need to meet the needs of children during disaster."
