Jazz guitarist Steve Jones, a former resident of Collinsville, returns to Bridge Street Live Saturday night with the Garden City Hot Club. The trio features Jones, second lead/rhythm guitarist Bob Hiltunen and an upright bass player. According to a press kit, "using the "Gypsy Swing" of Django Reinhardt as their base, the GCHC bring their intensity and joyful approach to original compositions, old jazz standards, modern Roma-influenced music, swing-based novelty songs, blues, and anything else that sounds good." Jones grew up in Michigan's Upper Peninsula and has been playing guitar since age 7. He lived in Collinsville for several years and now has moved back to Michigan. "It is great to be back as always," Jones said, ""Love seeing old friends and seeing fresh faces too. Collinsville will always be my other home. I just love it here." The show takes place at 7 p.m. July 27. Tickets are $17 and $27.
