Impact Of Screen Time On Kids Topic Of Canton Movie Screenings

The Town of Canton is hosting two showings this week of the documentary film 'Screenagers' about kids on their phones/tablets.

CANTON, CT — Local parents with children seemingly attached to their cell phones will want to attend one of two showings of a documentary film hosted by the Canton Parks and Recreation Department.

The town is screenings of "Screenagers," a documentary on children and the impact of screen time on their lives, on Thursday, Jan. 16, and Saturday, Jan. 18.

Thursday's event is from 6 to 8 p.m. in Room F of the Canton Community Center, 40 Dyer Ave., Canton.

Saturday's screening will take place at the same location from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Both movie showings will also feature a post-screening discussion hosted by an expert moderator.

These screenings for the "elementary school-aged" edition of "Screenagers" are also being hosted by the Canton Youth Services Bureau.

Those interested can register in advance at CantonRec.org, but walk-ins are also welcome. Snacks and drinks will be provided at both screenings.
