James Pelehach throws Out First pitch at New Britain Rock Cats Reading Books in Summer Night

Submitted release
More than 50,000 children ages five through 12 and more than 100 libraries participated in the Reading Books in Summer (RBIS) program this year. A partnership with Citizens Bank, New Britain Rock Cats, the Connecticut Library Consortium and Read to Grow, the RBIS program is a home run for literacy – encouraging children to read by rewarding them with free Rock Cats game tickets and experiences.
To celebrate a summer of reading, children representing participating libraries came from across the state to throw out first pitches on Aug. 13, 14 and 15, 2013. Joining minor league baseball players and the team mascot Rocky on the field, children were applauded for their hard work over the summer.
