Mental Health A Major Priority At Regional Health Department

CANTON, CT — The local regional health department based in Canton has, recently, been targeting mental health as one public health issue that must be addressed.

On Monday, the Farmington Valley Health District offered up an online, mental health assessment that will help folks determine if their mental health needs further attention.

Located at 95 River Road, Suite C, Canton, the FVHD serves the towns of Avon, Barkhamsted, Canton, Colebrook, East Granby, Farmington, Granby, Hartland, New Hartford, and Simsbury.

This comes after the health department last month hosted an "adult mental health first aid class" at the Christ Church in Canton.

The class helped folks in the community learn about the importance of mental health and how to help someone having a mental health emergency.
