CANTON, CT — A new business in Canton is aiming to make you look, feel and be better one sweaty drip at a time and do so without heavy, physical exertion.

In fact, it aims to do so in a high-tech manner that utilizes relaxation and temperature therapy.

The Shops at Farmington Valley, 110 Albany Turnpike, has announced the opening of Connecticut's first "driphouse" location, bringing a premier wellness studio to the heart of the Farmington Valley.

While "driphouse" is the proper name of the operations, its first letter is not capitalized, per its trademark.

Female-owned and operated, driphouse offers FAR-infrared therapy and cryotherapy services for those looking to take charge of their health and vitality.

A grand opening party and ribbon-cutting is planned for Friday, Feb. 9, from 4 to 7 p.m. at "driphouse," which is at 110 Albany Turnpike, Suite 905.

Guests can enjoy sips and snacks, learn more about the benefits of their services from their staff, shop their apparel collection and enjoy raffles for treatment packages.

Co-owned by Malisa Lougher and Tami Wilmot, driphouse presents recovery options such as muscle recovery, deep sleep, enhanced stress reduction, weight loss and overall wellness — "all through an innovative and relaxing detox experience for mind, body and spirit," according to an announcement

driphouse achieves this through FAR-infrared therapy, a heating method that safely warms the body gradually and consistently to a temperature where healthy sweating can occur without the need for intense physical activity.

“We are thrilled to open our first location in Connecticut at The Shops at Farmington Valley, as it is such a convenient location that is easily accessible and has a lovely community of residents and local business owners alike,” said Malisa Lougher, co-owner of driphouse®.

“With our other three locations being in New York, and with the influx of new residents from New York moving to this area, it was a natural progression to move East.”

“We are so excited to add driphouse to our family of health and wellness businesses here at The Shops,” said Liz Ackerman, general manager at The Shops.

Appointments can be made online through the Shops at Farmington Valley website at: https://theshopsatfarmingtonva... or by calling driphouse Canton directly at 860-352-8701.
