(Update) Weather Has Delayed Return of a Bandstand Tradition, Golf for a Cause and More in Canton

Editor's Note: We have been told the Thursday concert will not happen due to rain. Organizers are trying to determine if another date will work.
It's an exciting week ahead in Canton as the Farmington Valley band returns to the gazebo at the Canton Green Thursday night.
In 2012, the Canton Lions Club, with help from the Cherry Brook Garden Club and the town, restored the historic landmark.
For decades, the Farmington Valley band played at the gazebo regularly.
The thought was to "commemorate all the work and the history of the band," said Eric Sondergeld, a band member and board secretary.
The show takes place from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 8. Patch will also have more on the show in the next day or so but here are some other activities taking place in town this week:
- Shop Rite's Partners in Caring Golf Tournament is set for Wednesday.
- Advanced Girls Basketball Camp starts today at Valley Sports Center.
- Comedian Jim David comes to Bridge Street Live Friday night.
- Learn how to cook for College at Sur La Table.
