Time for Canton Dogs to Get Their License!

Renew your dog's license by June 28 to be entered in the Canton Top Dog contest!

Written by Patch Field Editor Jessie King

The Town of Canton’s website reminds residents that dogs must be licensed between June 1st and June 30th and that early renewals are not permitted.

Connecticut dog laws mandate that dogs older than six months this June must be licensed or their licenses must be renewed next in June at the Town Clerk's office.

It costs $19 to license each intact dog and $8 for each spayed or neutered dogs.

When going in for the tags, owners must present an up-to-date certificate of vaccination against rabies that is signed by a veterinarian.

The dog tags need to be attached to the dog’s collar.

Dogs that have their licenses renewed by June 28 will also be automatically entered in the drawing for Canton Top Dog contest. The winner receives the #1 dog tag!
