Cheshire Academy to Begin its 218th Year on Aug. 31
The first day of school will begin with the traditional procession down Main Street from the school to St. Bridget Church with a Scottish bagpiper leading students, faculty and staff.

The procession on Aug. 31 will bring members of the Cheshire Academy family to a convocation ceremony at St. Bridget Church.
About 350 students will attend the 2011-12 school year, said Philip Moore, director of communications.
The students come from 10 states: Colorado, Connecticut, Georgia, Illinois, Massachusetts, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and Rhode Island.

Moore said students from 9 countries will also attend: the Bahamas, China, Hong Kong, Jamaica, Korea, Romania, Taiwan, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates.
The new school year will also see the dedication of a new athletic field and track on Sept. 23. The artificial turf field and surrounding six-lane track will have lighting for evening events.
