The procession on Aug. 31 will bring members of the Cheshire Academy family to a convocation ceremony at St. Bridget Church. About 350 students will attend the 2011-12 school year, said Philip Moore, director of communications. The students come from 10 states: Colorado, Connecticut, Georgia, Illinois, Massachusetts, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and Rhode Island. Moore said students from 9 countries will also attend: the Bahamas, China, Hong Kong, Jamaica, Korea, Romania, Taiwan, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates. The new school year will also see the dedication of a new athletic field and track on Sept. 23. The artificial turf field and surrounding six-lane track will have lighting for evening events.
