Cheshire Girl Breaks SCC Record For Pole Vault

Cheshire High School's Selina Sampieri crushed an Southern Connecticut Conference record this month for pole vault.

A Cheshire High School girl set a new Southern Connecticut Conference record and earned herself a gold medal this month at the SCC Track and Field Championship.

Selina Sampieri, a junior at Cheshire High School, set a new SCC record this month when she vaulted over a 10-foot, six-inch pole, according to the Cheshire Herald. The previous SCC record was 10 feet, according to the Herald.

Overall, the team finished fourth in the competition and Cheshire girls earned gold medals in three different events, according to the Cheshire Herald. Also, the Cheshire High School boys track and field team finished 10th in the SCC Track and Field championship, according to the Herald
