CHESHIRE, CT — Police are advising motorists to stay off the roads as several cars are getting stuck along the major routes, and many side roads, in Cheshire due to the heavy snowfall. "The snow is coming down at a much greater rate than earlier reports anticipated," police wrote in a post on Facebook. "Visibility is poor because of the heavy snowfall and wipers / windshields freezing while driving. Cars are stuck along the major routes in Cheshire (10, 68, 70) and many side roads, making it difficult for the plows to properly clean the roads. "Please use caution while driving but, better yet, stay where you are unless it's absolutely necessary to travel. "Be safe out there!"
