A Waterbury man was arrested earlier this month for allegedly trying to fill forged prescriptions at a local pharmacy.
David Balek, 35, of 8 Lampson St., Waterbury, was charged with second-degree forgery, misuse to obtain prescriptions, reckless driving, engaging police in pursuit, operating without a license and first-degree reckless endangerment.
According to police, Balek tried to fill the allegedly forged prescription at CVS Pharmacy at 905 South Main St. When police got there, Balek took off in his car, according to reports, and police pursued him but eventually broke off the chase.
Balek was arrested a short time later after getting into a motor vehicle accident in Wallingford, according to police. He was taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital for treatment.
He was held in lieu of $10,000 bond and is due to appear in Meriden Superior Court on Aug. 6.
