State Republican Delegates Share Stories from National Convention
First full day of convention kicks off Tuesday.
Delegates from Connecticut are receiving a warm Florida welcome, complete with patriotic sand scultpures at on Treasure Island.
"We just want to thank the people of Tampa, the hotel, staff here, everything's been great," said Conneticut GOP Congressional Coordinator Art Mocabee, of Bristol.
"People are asking why we're here, because there's an influx of people, it's a fantastic time, you can feel the excitement," said Mark Zydanowicz, of West Hartford, CT, Second Vice Chair of District 1.
Frank Klein with the North Dakota Delegation talked about Tropical Storm Isaac. "We don't have hurricanes in North Dakota, (a) hurricane's a new experience. I don't have any idea of what to expect. I packed all clothes for 98 degrees with 90 percent humidity, and all that," Klein said.
The storm caused the convention to be truncated on its first scheduled day of business but Tuesday will see prime time speeches by Mitt Romney’s wife, Ann, and New Jersey Governor Chris Christie.
