The Hamden Heronettes Synchronized Swim Team is offering two free, no obligation sessions for interested swimmers on Tuesday, Sept. 16 and Thursday, Sept. 18, both from 5:45 to 6:45 p.m. at the Hamden High School pool, 2040 Dixwell Ave. The pool entrance is in the rear of the building. No advanced registration is necessary.
These TRY-IT! Sessions are designed for female swimmers, aged 7-11, who can swim the width of the pool and are comfortable putting their face in the water. Participants should wear a bathing suit, bring a towel, and get ready to learn about egg beaters, ballet legs, and barracudas—all synchronized swimming skills.
The Hamden Heronettes (www.Heronettes.org) are an elite competitive team, founded in 1970. Synchronized swimming, an Olympic event since 1984, requires grace, strength, flexibility, stamina, drama, musicality, and endurance. Come and see why and TRY-IT!
