The program utilizes state and federal funds from the National Endowment for the Arts.

OLD SAYBROOK, CT — Local arts organizations will receive $63,734 via the state Department of Economic & Community Development's Office of the Arts, according to a statement from State Sen. Martha Marx (D-New London).

"Our local arts organizations instill a love of culture in our youth and fill our communities with beauty," Marx said. "To hear that more than a dozen local organizations will receive this valuable support helping them further their important work is wonderful. I'm grateful for the state's support of these local groups."

The Supporting Arts grant program provides general operating support to Connecticut arts organizations and municipal arts departments; organizations receiving funds can use them where they are most needed.
