For 24 Hours, Clinton Drinking Water Facility Without Power
Connecticut Water asks customers in Clinton, Madison, Guilford, Old Saybrook and Westbrook to conserve water after Eversource power cut.
CLINTON, CT β With power from Eversource cut at one of its "key drinking water facilities" in Clinton, Connecticut Water Company says it needs help from folks in Clinton, Guilford, Madison, Old Saybrook and Westbrook, in conserving water until it can get that station fully operational.
Water quality has not been affected and the water is safe to drink, but the water company is concerned about shortages and asked customers to "avoid all unnecessary use ...for the time being."
Connecticut Water said once it lost power, it used a "back up emergency generator" Tuesday night into Wednesday but that the generator "has begun to experience mechanical issues."
