CLINTON, CT — Nonprofit groups are keystone community organizations in the Clinton area. Fortunately, there is no shortage of organizations to volunteer or get behind financially, and that need your help.

Here are five outstanding nonprofit groups you should know about in the Clinton area:

1. Bare Necessities: Bare Necessities aims to provide diapers and wipes to those in need through local food pantries and community service organizations. Their vision is that the families in the community will be able to live in a diaper-stress-free environment and have access to all essentials.

2. Families Helping Families: The mission of Families Helping Families is to assist Clinton families in need by uniting the community for the greater good. Families Helping Families works independently and in cooperation with local organizations to assist Clinton residents going through food insecurity, needing home heating, children enrichment programs and more.

3. Study Hall Inc.: Study Hall is a non-profit tutoring and educational resource center in Clinton whose mission is to provide affordable educational assistance to students in Grades 3 and up.

4. Clinton Education Foundation: Clinton Education Foundation was founded in the spring of 2006. Its mission is to fund grants, scholarships and programs for students and teachers. The funds provide opportunities that fall outside of the scope and budget of the Clinton Public Schools. The grants and scholarships help students develop their intellectual, social, emotional and physical talents and help them to maximize their potential.

5. Clinton Land Trust: Since its incorporation more than 50 years ago, the Clinton Land Conservation Trust (CLCT) has acquired nearly 880 acres of woodland, wetland and tidal marsh for permanent conservation. With projects ranging from the reintroduction of Osprey in the early 1970s to protecting and restoring the marshes of the lower Indian River and supporting environmental programs for young people, CLCT has been actively involved in preserving the natural environment in Clinton.
