Beloved Cafe With Over 30 Years Of History Closes In Clinton
A breakfast-and-lunch restaurant with a unique decoration style recently announced the closure.
CLINTON, CT β Breakfast-and-lunch spot Coffee Break at 27 E. Main St. in Clinton has closed its doors.
"Sometimes Life throws you a surprise," a post on the coffee shop's Facebook page reads. "Donna and Fran have found themselves with one. We will miss all our great customers and we will find the right new owner for you to have your special restaurant. But we have closed."
The family restaurant opened in 1994. A father-and-son team were the only cooks, and the decorations featured flamingos and clocks.

Coffee Break was open seven days a week and has "slowly grown through the years," according to its website.
Then the establishment closed in 2020 for a year and a half due to an illness. They reopened for four days a week in September 2021.

"We remodeled a lot," the website reads. "No more flamingos⦠just a lot of clocks. Over the years we have made a lot of year round community friends and have built friendships with summer residents from everywhere. We have enjoyed watching a lot of families grow and feel lucky that they still come in to visit."
The cafe served up classics like pancakes, french toast, homemade soups, kielbasa hash, and paninis.
