Bodies Of 2 Missing Boaters Recovered After Crash In Old Saybrook
Crews recovered the bodies of two missing boaters on Friday, according to officials.

OLD SAYBROOK, CT — The bodies of two missing boaters were recovered in the Connecticut River on Friday after a deadly boat crash in Old Saybrook earlier this week.
A spokesperson for the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection said the deceased bodies of two adult men were recovered from the water on Friday.
The body of one man was found around 12:10 p.m., and the remaining missing man was recovered around 4:30 p.m., according to CT DEEP Director of Communications Will Healey.

Identifications are being withheld pending notifications to family, Healey said.
The State Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine cause and manner of death, according to Healey.

The incident remains under investigation.

The boat crash happened around 9:15 p.m. on Monday.
DEEP Environmental Conservation Police along with other agencies responded to the report and found a single motorboat half-submerged near Harbor One Marina.
The boat had suffered significant damage. Nine people were on the boat at the time of the crash, DEEP said.
One man died, six were taken to the hospital, and two people were missing after the crash.
The man who died was found inside the boat, according to WTNH News-8.
He was later identified as 34-year-old Christopher Hallahan of Westbrook, according to state officials.
