'From Cluttered to Clean'

The creation of the newΒ Branford-based small businessΒ was spearheaded byΒ Jenn McCulloch.

McCulloch, the former editor for Branford and North Branford Patch sites,Β recently created Sunshine Organizing ServicesΒ after 10 years in the journalism field.Β

The busy mother of fourΒ said eventually, she came toΒ realize that organizing her schedules, content and time was one of her favorite parts of the job.Β

At home in Branford with her husband and children,Β McCulloch says sheΒ is always organizing (orΒ reorganizing) a room, schedule or closet.

"I've always been an organized person," she told Branford Patch. "It's something that comes very naturally to me and taking spaces from cluttered to clean makes me happy."

Take Control of the Clutter

And now,Β McCulloch says sheΒ is ready toΒ take her organizational expertise and know-how and use it to benefit others.Β

"I canΒ help you learn how toΒ take control of the clutter in a space as small as your linen closet, orΒ tackle bigger projects like garages too full to park a car," she said. "Or even aΒ playroom with no room to play."

She added that itΒ very satisfying to see the difference that an organized space can make in the life of her clients.

"I love helping others find that satisfaction," she said.

Save Time & Money

But McCulloch said being organized can not only help make your life less stressful, but it can actually save you time and money, too.Β

"For example, if your belongings have a proper home, you'll spend less time looking for things," she said. "Or if your cupboards are organized, you'll find yourself using more of what you have and not making unnecessary purchases at the store."

Organization Anywhere

And it's not just your home.Β

Sunshine Organizing Services is also able to help with:

  • offices and paper pileups
  • calendars and schedules
  • packing and unpacking
  • craft rooms
  • and evenΒ photo organization

If you need it organized, McCulloch said she is ready, willing and able to help.

"In a sometimes chaotic world that demands so much of you, Sunshine Organizing Services is here to helpΒ you create a serene and clutter-free environment, where everything has a place and things are simplified," she said.

Tidying Tips

Although McCulloch noted that no two people can get organized in the same way, she did share some basicΒ 'rules' that can help:Β

  • Find 'homes' for your belongings and group like things together
  • Implement the one-in, one-out rule so. For example: if you buy a new shirt, get rid of one that you no longer wear.
  • Put things away as soon as you're done with them.Β

In order to stay organized, McCulloch saidΒ you have to find a system that "works for you, your space and your lifestyle."

"Being organized frees you up to do more of the things you want to do with more time for life's pleasures," she added.
