Car Plunges Into Water In Clinton

CLINTON, CT — A vehicle went off the road into water in Clinton late Friday night, according to a fire department post. Firefighters were called just before midnight on a report of a single motor vehicle in the water in the area of Old Post Road and Grove Beach North.

The driver had escaped the car when firefighters arrived. The driver was transported to a local emergency facility for evaluation.

Firefighters donned cold water rescue suits to confirm there was no one else in the vehicle or the water.
