Christmas Tree Farm Store To Close After Season In Old Saybrook

The owners of a Christmas tree farm store that's been around for decades described its impending closure as "bittersweet."

OLD SAYBROOK, CT — Scott's Farm Store will open for the 2025 Christmas season, but this will be its last season.

"This will be a bitter sweet season as it will be our last," the owners posted on Facebook. "This will be our farewell season at Scott’s in Old Saybrook."

The land the store is on has been sold. The owners referred to this as a "bittersweet ending" but also a "new path" as they will be able to spend more time with family.

"Thank you to all of our loyal customers," the post reads. "A lot of you have watched our 3 children grow over the years and have become like family to us. We greatly appreciate all of you. Thank you for supporting our business over the years."

In the meantime, you can still go to the farm store this season at 356 Middlesex Turnpike.

"Please stop by during our Christmas season to buy a beautiful tree, or a gorgeous one of a kind handmade Christmas wreath," the post reads. "Stop by to say hello and goodbye to Will and Tammie, and the Scott’s crew."

The owner of Auto Barn next store to Scott's purchased the property along with a multi-tenant plaza and rear building for $725,000, according to The Connecticut Scoop. It's unclear what the property's future will be.

The farewell post from Scott's garnered 254 reactions and 28 comments as of Monday morning.

One commenter said: "We’ll be sure to be there so we can say our final farewell; I grew up there, and we even had our maternity photos done there and brought our little guy every year for a Christmas tree."
