Clinton Expands Train Service With Second Platform
Trains began using the second platform at the Clinton station last week.

CLINTON, CT β Trains began using the second platform Clinton Railroad Station on Shore Line East on Monday, according to a statement. Construction on the $15.1 million station began in 2019.
βI'd like to thank Governor Lamont and DOT Commissioner Joseph Giulietti for the project funding," State Rep. Christine Goupil (D-Clinton/Killingworth/Westbrook) said in a statement.
Clintonβs train station located in downtown within walking distance of several businesses, from restaurants, galleries, shops, new apartments, a marina, and the waterfront.

The second platform allows Shore Line East customers more travel options between Clinton Station and New Haven or New London daily in addition to convenient connections to the New Haven Line operated by Metro-North.
Weekday train service to and from Clinton Station will increase from 11 trains to 23 and weekend train service, from seven trains to 16 trains.
