The Clinton Land Conservation Trust is helping fourΒ localΒ students in their efforts to attend Bushy Hill Nature Camp this summer.
Each year, viaΒ the Eunice Symonds Scholarship Fund, the trustΒ sponsors four Pierson students to attend the Ivoryton-based nature campΒ for two weeks during summer vacation.
Students are asked to write a persuasive essay as to why theyΒ would be the perfect candidate to win the scholarship.
Many ofΒ the students write about their love of nature and their desire toΒ βmake the world a better place."Β
Essays are read by the BoardΒ of the Land Trust, and as a committee, a decision is made as toΒ who the winners are.
For many students, this is their first campΒ experience.
This yearβs winners are:
- Camryn Smith
- Sierra Innamorato
- Maddie Tuccitto
- Jahayra Lopez
