Clinton Man Killed In 2-Vehicle Crash, ID Released: State Police

WESTBROOK, CT — Michael Leon Sutyla, 76, of Clinton, was killed in a two-car crash on the Boston Post Road near Hammock Road Wednesday afternoon, according to state police.

According to state police, a 2005 Ford F150 driven by a Virginia resident was traveling eastbound on the Boston Post Road. Sutyla's 2009 Honda Civic was traveling southbound on Hammock Road North.

Sutyla's car "disregarded the stop sign at the intersection of Boston Post Rd and Hammock Rd N, which resulted in Vehicle #1 and Vehicle #2 colliding," state police wrote in the accident summary.

A passenger in the Ford F150 was taken to the hospital for minor injuries, while Sutyla was taken to the hospital suffering from serious injuries, state police said. He later died at an area hospital.
