How did you come up with the name?

Being a beauty supply store, and selling to the public and professionals alike we wanted a catchy name. Of course clippers being a tool of the trade was catchy, however I took it one step further and replaced the “C” with a pair of scissors representing the letter “K“. And, Klippers (with a K) was born.

Why start a business in this town?

At the time (3years ago) there was nothing like this in the area, and having hairdressing experience and knowledge background I told my husband Ken I thought it would be a good idea to bring to Clinton.

What business are you in?

Along with selling beauty products for men, women and children, we specialize in wigs. We not only sell wigs and accessories for wigs, but we also service (style, cut and recondition wigs). We work closely with cancer patients, those with thinning or noticeable hair loss, and just those who want a different and fun look.

What’s the most difficult challenge you’ve faced as a business owner?

Well, being a small business owner I would have say business expense in general. No matter what business you are in everything goes up and prices sadly have to increase.

What’s been your proudest achievement since opening?

Meeting and getting to know wonderful people!

How does your business give back to the community?

Even though you can’t please everyone, we try to make everyone happy by going above and beyond to help our customers whenever possible. We contribute to local charities and fundraisers, and support all local businesses in the area.
