Controlled Fire Causes Smoke In Clinton: Town
Officials say there is no danger to residents or structures, but the fire is producing a "significant" amount of smoke.

CLINTON, CT — Smoky local conditions today are being caused by a controlled fire, town officials said.
The town issued a public notice Friday afternoon about a controlled fire in the vicinity of Nod Road.
Local fire officials and state authorities are on the scene managing the situation, according to the notice.

According to the town, there is no danger to either residents or structures, but the fire is “producing a significant amount of smoke.”
The notice says the burning materials are natural organics and do not pose a health risk to breathe.

“However, out of an abundance of caution, residents are advised to keep windows closed and to avoid the area if possible,” the notice states.
Officials said they will provide ongoing updates.
