Man, 38, Reported Missing, Multi-Agency Water Search Ongoing In Westbrook
The man was last seen at a CVS in late July and his canoe was found overturned, state officials said.

WESTBROOK, CT — State Department of Energy and Environmental Protection police are searching for Andrew Corbett, 38, of Westbrook, whose overturned canoe was discovered at Messerschmitt Pond late last week.
With the support of his family, DEEP is releasing his name and photo to request assistance from the public.
Corbett was last seen on the night of July 30, 2025, at approximately 11 p.m., at a CVS in Groton. His vehicle was later found at Messerschmitt Pond, where an active, multi-agency search began on August 1, officials said.

That effort has involved these additional agencies: The Connecticut State Police (CSP), the CSP dive team, Westbrook Fire Department, Essex Fire Department, Taftville Fire Search and Rescue, Guilford Fire Department, Goshen Fire Department, conducting shoreline, water and aerial searches with K-9 units, marine units, dive teams, UAV teams and CSP Aviation Unit coordinated by DEEP EnCon Police.
As of 4 p.m. Tuesday, the search remains ongoing. Later this evening, operations are expected to shift from a full-scale search to a smaller, monitoring-focused presence at the pond, officials said.

Anyone who may have seen or had contact with Andrew Corbett between the evening of July 30 and the morning of August 1, or who has any information that may assist in the investigation, is urged to contact DEEP Dispatch at 860-424-3333 and ask for Investigator Reilly.
"We ask the public to avoid the area around Messerschmitt Pond to support the safety and effectiveness of ongoing search operations," state officials said.
