"Must The Winter Come So Soon?" To Be Offered By Madison Lyric Stage
After a summer of sold out concerts and dinners, Madison Lyric Stage has announced plans for a harvest concert entitled "Must the Winter Come So Soon?"

After a summer of sold out concerts and dinners, Madison Lyric Stage has announced plans for a harvest concert entitledΒ Must the Winter Come So Soon?Β which will be held onΒ Saturday, October 19 at 7:30 p.m.Β at theΒ Shoreline Unitarian Universalist SocietyΒ located atΒ 297 Boston Post Road in Madison, CT. Suggested admission is $20.

The evening will feature great music of the American 20thΒ century, including Samuel BarberβsΒ Knoxville: Summer of 1915, Leonard BernsteinβsΒ CandideΒ andΒ MASS, Aaron CoplandβsΒ Old American SongsΒ taken from Shaker hymns, andΒ Songs of Emily Dickinson, and even music by Barry Manilow.Β The musical selections will be accompanied by readings of works by May Sarton, Emily Dickinson andΒ The Headless HorsemanΒ by Jack Prelutsky.Β
The cast features international tenor Marc Deaton, joined by soprano Megan Weston who performed with Madison Lyric Stage in August inΒ From Berlin to Vienna.Β They are joined by other favorite MLS ensemble artists Barbara Hentschel, John Johmann and pianist, Michael Fennelly, all who performed in the summer concert series.
A variety of simple harvest treats from Lianaβs Table will be available for sale at the performance.
