New Finance Director Hired In Clinton

CLINTON, CT — Robert Tait has been hired as the town’s next finance director, Interim Town Manager Richard Brown announced Tuesday.

Brown said Tait has a “wealth of municipal finance experience that will serve Clinton well.”

“Bob Tait not only has a great understanding of municipal finance but he is able to convey that information to the Town Council and members of the public,” Brown said in a news release.

Tait has served as controller in Fairfield, finance director in Meriden, and most recently 16 years as the finance director in Newtown.

He has been active in CT GFOA (Government Finance Officers Association), according to the news release.

Tait is expected to begin work on April 29, according to Brown.
